OHL announced today that Stephen Downey recently joined the organization as Vice President, Healthcare Vertical. Downey brings his significant Healthcare logistics and operations expertise to the organization.
The Healthcare vertical at OHL includes customers in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, home healthcare, health and beauty, and various other healthcare products. Before joining OHL, Downey served as Vice President at Integra Life Sciences, a major medical device organization. During his 9 year tenure with Integra, he held leadership positions in logistics and customer service, both in the US and internationally. His 20+ year history with various medical device organizations has included roles in logistics, supply chain, operations, sales & marketing and executive leadership. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Friends’ Health Connection; a non-profit focused on Health and Wellness, and is an Associate Professor with Western International University. Downey has a BS in Electrical Engineering and Masters in Business, both from Lehigh University.
“The Healthcare vertical is a significant focus for OHL and we are pleased to have Stephen join our organization”, says Shawn MacCartey, OHL Senior Vice President, Vertical Logistics. “His knowledge and experience within the Healthcare logistics space provides us with the right proficiency to continue gaining ground as a leading 3PL in the Healthcare Industry.
“I’m honored to join OHL”, says Downey. “OHL has a reputation for excellence in execution that demonstrates that their customers matter and that they know the meaning of customer partnership. They are well on their way to being a leader in Healthcare logistics and I look forward to being a part of their continued success. Most importantly, success as a 3PL in Healthcare requires commitment, balancing the pressures of cost, quality and regulatory compliance, and an understanding of exacting the needs of the customer. OHL has shown that commitment.”
