James J. Martell

Mr. Martell began working with Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe (WCAS) in 2004 and focuses on investments in the information/business services industry. He is currently Chairman of OHL. Previously, he was president and chief executive officer of SmartMail.  Martell ultimately completed the sale of SmartMail to Deutsche Post Global Mail in 2004. Prior to joining SmartMail, he served as chief executive officer for the Americas for Union-Transport Service, where his direction in the areas of logistics, customer service, and international operations resulted in a profitable corporate turnaround.  Martell also worked at both Federal Express and United Parcel Service for a combined fifteen years.

Martell graduated in 1976 from Michigan Technological University with a B.S. degree in business administration.
